The First Richmond Howitzers is a member unit of the Southern Legion, a local organization of Confederate forces that is recognized nationally as the 6th Battalion, Army of Northern Virginia.
Currently outfitted with a 12-pounder Mountain Howitzer, the First Richmond Howitzers actively operate on the field in direct support of the battalion's infantry units. When in camp or on the field, the First Richmond Howitzers can usually be found brigaded with the Twenty-first Mississippi Infantry - a relationship that existed during the War Between the States and is continued between these two New England based organizations.

The First Richmond Howitzers enjoy many Reenactment activities and other Living History presentations throughout the year. Organized as a family-oriented group, the Howitzers also field a working battery laundry, commissary and Relief organization.
You will be able to find the members of the "Howitzers", training, marching and otherwise chasing Yankees, at the following events though the campaign season.

Living History and reenactments has something for everyone, and the Howitzer membership illustrates this in detail. Our members are varied in age, come from diverse walks of life and have found great companionship in this hobby and this organization. There is plenty to do and much to share - all one needs in an interest of the period or history in general - we'll help you with the rest!
There are a few field events remaining in the schedule, exclusive of social occasions during the "Winter Quarters" period, and there is no better time to begin.
